Eleni Kaldoudi
Eleni Kaldoudi received a BSc degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1987, an MSc degree in Medical Physics from the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, in 1989, a Certificate in Management Studies from the University of Surrey, UK in 1989, and a Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from UCL, London, UK, in 1994.
Currently, she is a Professor in Physics of Medical Imaging & Telemedicine at the School of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace, Alexandroupoli, Greece. Formerly, she has been an Associate Researcher at the Center of Medical Informatics and Telematics Applications in Medicine, Institute of Computer Science, Foundation of Research and Technology- Hellas (ICS-FORTH). Eleni has acted as a Member of the Greek National Representative team for the EU FP7 Programme Capacities (2006-2010). She is a reviewer in a number of scientific journals and a member of the scientific committee for a number of international conferences in field of medical informatics and telematics.
Her research interests are within the areas of medical informatics and telematics, with emphasis on technologies supporting medical education, home care telematics, medical image management, as well as biological and medical physics with emphasis on magnetic resonance imaging, in which she has published one book and over 70 papers in various journals and conference proceedings. She has participated either as a technical coordinator or as project leader in 5 national and EU funded projects and as a team member in more than 20 projects. Eleni is currently coordinating the FP7 ICT project "CARRE: Personalized patient empowerment and shared decision support for cardiorenal disease and comorbidities"
Eleni is also a Member of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) Committee on "Women in Medical and Biological Engineering."
